I just sold my APL and am in the process of switching to all TLR-1's on all my pistols.  The TLR just seems more solid to me.

APL really shines as light on small/light pistols, such as the G19, G17. On a Beretta, or Sig, I'd run the TLR or X300 series. I've got APLs that have stood up to over 10k on a G22. Its mount (new screw based one) has proven more durable than the one on my X300s, but I haven't tried their new screw mount. I've never had a problem with mounts on the TLR series, and those represent an awesome value.

The APL has superior ergonomics. I like it better.

Same here.

While APL is hella compact it lacks the ass (read lumens) to do what I want a weapon light to do.

My next purchase will be the new high output TLR-1

That switch is annoying as hell. There's no good way to manually strobe which is how I was taught.

I only have experience with the Streamlight HL and it's an awesome light.  I thought the high output would be too much for indoors but it's not an issue.

My Inforce has been back twice for switch repair. This was without any banging around or duty use. I'm a bit leery of it now and have gone back to Surefire or Streamlight.

I use my Streamlight for opfor force on force and it has held up great despite being dropped, thrown, and having the lens shot out more than once by sims.

I have a  TLR 1 HL and love it...however I have considered an APL for IWB ccw, but I may as well just go XC1 for that.

i loved my streamlight tlr1hl but it wouldnt clear a osprey suppressor on my g17. I run an apl, and love the switch, it isnt too bright and wash out, and is slimmer and lighter. They both have a lifetime warranty and stand behind it. Ill be buying another apl soon for my hk

I dont think you can really go wrong with any of them

I use my APL for AIWB.

APL > XC1 and half the price.

From what I understand the lamp on the XC1 is that same one used on that Surefire wrist light thingy. No thanks.

The streamlight is much better quality but the APL has way better ergonomics.

I like big buttons and I cannot lie.

IMO those 2 lights are used for very different purposes.

For ccw, the APL shines(as does the XC1).

For open carry/home defense/general use light the TLR1 would make more sense.

OWB/Duty gun? TRL

IWB/concealed gun? APL

Hold off and pay a little more for much better quality on sale for $200. New 600 lumens.

My primary light is an XC1 but the TLR1 is an awesome light in the size class it is in.  I have the 300 lumen version the 600 was to intensely bright for my liking and honestly I prefer my XC1 200 wide spread light more than the TLR1.

I'm switching everything over to the TLR-1 HL 800 model because it's so strong. I have one on my g19 and carry it in a T.Rex Raptor holster.

I used an HL on a Gen4 G23 in an Xfer holster for about a year.

The 600 lumens sounds great until you use it in a dark house immediately after waking up.

I've seen APLs crack and quit working in high round count classes.  I personally do not have experience with it, but I know guys who do; they have *all* taken theirs off and have switched to SureFires and Streamlights, mainly the TLR-1 HL model.  I carry one on both my carry handgun and on my duty handgun.

I absolutely love my TLR-1 HL. It has an amazing flood with a nice hot spot. It resides on my G17.4, but I have the option to throw it on the G19.4 and still use the same holster I use for the 17... Further, the FDE is spot on with all my other FDE gear.

Love my APL's. I like the interface better, people say thay they have problems I haven't had any but if I do I'll just buy another APL because again I like the interface and they're only $90.

I just got a deal on one of the Streamlight TLR-1 HL 800 Lumen Lights at $119 and decided to give it a try. Previously I've only bought Surefires, but, unfortunately Surefire has been behind the curve on higher power led lights. If they offered an X300 Ultra in 800 or more lumens I would have gotten one. The Streamlight 800 lumen seems decent enough and the extra 200 lumen output is noticeable and better then the Surefire. I have 1,000 lumen led lights on my rifles and this Streamlight looks to be a very good light for my HD pistol.

I like Inforce lights, but not their durability...
