I have never really had the need for a weapon light, but we will be moving to cabin in the country for about six months so I think it would be a good idea to add one to my P320.
So what would be a choice?
Thanks for the help

I have had the opportunity to use quite a few different lights.  Everything from Insight, Inforce, Streamlight, Sure-Fire, etc. they are all good lights, but I prefer the Streamlight TLR-1 over all of them.  The Streamlight is affordable, durable, throws a quality beam, has a good runtime and I prefer its switch over the Sure-Fire. I've been running my TLR-1 for three years and beat it up pretty badly, but it just keeps chugging.  My Sure-Fire x-300 Ultra sits in a drawer most of the time.

Don't get me wrong, the Sure-Fire is built like a tank, and if I was running it on a carbine, it's switch would be preferable over the Streamlight, but for a handgun, my choice is the Streamlight.

My advice is to ask around and see if anyone in your circle has lights to try out. Gets your hands on as many as possible and see which you prefer.

Good luck on the move.

This!  However my preference is for the Surefire.  I  prefer the switch and mounting method of the Surefire over the Streamlight TLR-1.  However the TLR-1 that I purchased was an absolutely great light.

I'm a Surefire fan, but Streamlight makes some good lights.

I have a TLR-3 on my G19. The new Surefire XC-1 looks fantastic. It's what I've been waiting for. Not sure when it is coming out but sometime this year. You should be able to get a TLR-1 or X-300 on your P320. The TLR-3 is about as compact as you can get unless you look at a Viridian or a Lightguard from Crimson Trace.

I have InForce APL's on my handguns. While I like the lights, themselves, I will say that there is much better aftermarket support for the Streamlight and Surefire lights. By that, I mean you're going to have a much wider assortment of holsters made for those two lights over the InForce.

If you're really "in the country" you should be talking about a rifle

Very good answer, here.

All I'll add is to look around for a used model once you figure out what you want; that's how I got mine

I own both a Surefire X300U and an Inforce APL and prefer the APL because of the superior switch/activation system and the price.

Surefire or Streamlight are the two best choices IMO.
