I am going to purchase a streamlight TLR-1, just curious if anyone has a preference for either model. I know the HL is brighter, but is there anything else I should consider?

Thank you

I have the tlr 1 and it's plenty bright. I'll be getting another one with the strobe sometime. I use them on my 45 and ar.

I have a couple 1S's and HL's.  The HL's are my go to.  Super bright, but don't believe the hype that they are too bright.

I have a Tlr-1HL. It is super bright and if you double tap the switch, it strobes.

High lumens for an outdoor low light competition gun, standard tlr1s for indoor/HD firearms. Reason being is the hl can effectively blind the person holding the firearm reflecting off indoor walls and such.

Brighter is better imho...get the HL.

I have the 1s on my G21...120 lumen is noticeably brighter than my original 80 lumen TLR-1. I'm not sure that the HL would be bright enough to make me want to upgrade.

I had another TLR1 on my rifle. I replaced that 80 lumen model with a 500 lumen Chinese light that is significantly brighter than all the others.

I did this exact thread a few weeks ago!  I went with the HL.
