Thanks dogsplat, that's the one. Gotta love ARF when you need answers.

How do you like yours? Is it for a Shield or another handgun? The homepage says the current wait is about 5 weeks, did you have to wait long for yours?

The order form is a little confusing and I'm not entirely sure which options I should go with, I'm trying to decide between the J-hook or the clip on.

I'm leaning towards the clip on with the 15° cant but I don't know if I'd benefit from the J-hook.

What are the advantages and disadvantages? I usually wear a belt if that makes a difference.

This will be my first kydex IWB holster so forgive my ignorance when it come to them. My usual carry options are a H&K USPc in a Milt Sparks Versa Max II or a H&K P7 in a Galco Tuck-n-Go.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

I had one for my Kahr CM9 when i owned one.  PJ holsters are great.  very light.  his wait time estimates are  pretty spot on usually.  if it says 5 weeks, expect 5 weeks

I carry a Shield 9 in a  j hook with a cant at 4 o'clock IWB.

As close to forgetting it's there in a compact 9 as I've found. I have a Cross Breed Super Tuck and while it's comfortable, IMO it's just too damn big and mine has over the belt clips which are more conspicuous than the J hook concept.

Removing the PJ is a one hand operation and if need be you can fit the whole thing in a pocket.

Wait times are pretty accurate.

Thanks again dogsplat, I really appreciate the feedback. I feel a lot more comfortable about ordering it now.

I'll go ahead and place the order tomorrow morning.

That type of fold over clip is prone to break. For 60 bucks and 5 weeks wait time, you shouldn't have any weak points, especially that crucial of a point.
Jccustomkydex
Sikkydex
Rigid holsters
Alameda holsters
Multiholsters

These are places I would look for the same price and wait time and not have such a bad design and press that looks like it was sanwhiched between someone's backside and a chair.

I'd help you out myself if I was still bending but I am out of the game due to being in an apartment.
I used to make these and sell them like hot cakes for 30 bucks and 1 week wait.

With a mag carrier it was 60

Thanks JesseCJC for the links, that's some beautiful work you did. I especially love the spare mag carrier in the second pic.

Like I said I'm new to kydex but I saw the pictures I posted in the OP and just really liked what I saw.

With so many custom shops and one man operations out there I don't know who is and isn't reputable or who does quality work.

It can be a bit overwhelming for sure, and thank you for the complement. Fold over holsters, tacos is the common name, are quick and easy to make and shouldn't cost you an arm and a leg. You want to be sure that the belt attachment is sturdy and will last and .08 kydex folded over just isn't going to cut it. Not too long ago there wasn't much for kydex guys to have in the forms of injection molded loops/struts/clips and people were making those from .125 and they STILL would break on occasion.

Rob over at rigid holsters makes a damn fine holster in a similar style with much better quality at 40 bucks shipped. Wait time is shorter too. The hybrid in the last pic is one he made for me.
Click me

Sikkydex is a straight kydex wizard and I have spent a good chunk of change with him despite being able to make my own holsters, he's just THAT good. A little pricey but who doesn't like some flash lol
click me too

Here is what PHLster has to offer, same price, higher quality, same wait time
this too

Loo at the DIY Kydex thread over in Survival.  It's stickied.  Maybe get a member to make you something just as nice for as cheap or cheaper and help a fellow member out.

You might want to look at KT with the soft strap option.  Great holsters-top quality.  I own two with a third on order.
