THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I used Hermann Oak 7/8 oz shoulder leather I got from Springfield Leather last week. Great people to do business with. I hand stitched with 277 nylon thread. The G19 pouch I dip dyed with black Fiebings professional oil dye. Very nice color. I applied neatsfoot oil and allowed it to dry for 24 hours. That really brought the deep richness of the black out. I finished it with Angulus 600 acrylic finish. I used "pull the dot" snaps instead of a tunnel loop. I prefer being able to remove the pouch without taking off my belt and the "pull the dot snaps are directional. Same snaps used on the Milt Sparks Versa Max II holster. What do you all think? I am working on a couple 1911 mag pouches. I just need to let the neatsfoot oil dry a couple more hours before I burnish the edges and apply the finish this evening. I will post some pics when done.

what do you use to stich them?
my machine won't even puncture one layer. i've heard of using a drill press for the holes and hand treading from there. |

I hand stitch them using a #145 stitching awl from CS Osborne. I has a diamond shaped blade that you use to puncture the leather with. You can use a drill press but get a drill bit no bigger than 3/64" I would love to get a nice leather sewing machine but the one I want a Cobra 4 is $2700 shipped. |

Looks great!! I like the hand boning detail across the top, gives it a very finished look.
