Is there any real difference or reason to go with 115  fmj or 124 fmj for regular target shooting/ training ammo ? Price is equal so does 9 grains more lead make a difference ? -Thanks

I can tell you with certainty shooting a good 124gn 9mm is very different from 115gn whitebox

With target shooting just make sure you use the same loads, consistency is key.  At short distance < 25m, there isn't much difference between the two weights accuracy wise.

Yep consistency is the key. What are you using for carry ammo? If you carry 124 then train with a similar load. I carry 147gr HST so I train with either 147gr American eagle or the 147gr Lawman. I find these two loads while not as hot as my carry load give a similar recoil pulse. I find that with this system I see less of a difference in split times when I run my 50 rounds of carry ammo a month.

Whatever is cheaper...but if it's the same price I'd get 124. 124 should shoot better out of most 9mm's.

I use 124FMJs because my carry ammo is 124 grain. I will use 115 if it's all I have on hand at the moment.
