The deep penetration crowd are going to love this one. A co-worker wanted to try out his carry ammo in some clear gel. He carries this in a Glock 17 and S&W Shield. The Shield was tried first. The first round in bare gel had an impact velocity of 933fps, penetrated 21.5 inches and expanded to .51 inches. The shot into heavy clothing impacted at 920fps penetrated to 20.5 inches and expanded to .49 inches.

Now out of the Glock 17. The bare gel shot was clocked at 1022fps, penetrated to 20 inches and expanded to .55 inches. In heavy clothing, velocity was 1012fps and it went to 22 inches with .49 inches of expansion.
