I have some of this ammo. It's pretty disappointing out of my 1006. Lots of particle blowback (unburnt powder?) out of a G20/Octane45.

It's nice that it costs less than $20/box but it lacks the excitement that you hope for from 10mm.

Have you reloaded the brass? Can you confirm or deny the rumors about it being too brittle?

Looks like target ammo. Very little expansion.

Haven't reloaded it yet.

Always been leery of those PPU/Fiocchi generic JHPs.

Wound track isn't bad for what the bullet ended up as.

Please note that ballistic gel is not intended to produce results that look like real wounds. The purpose is to produce penetration, retained weight, and expansion measurements that accurately represent the same measurements observed in human soft tissue. Additionally, real ballistic gelatin is less elastic than clear gel or real tissue and tears as a result of temporary stretch cavity much more readily, which exaggerates the appearance of the "wound".

Id say $18 per box of .40 hsts at 1100fps is a much better deal

Federal lists 180 gr HST at 1,010 fps. Still a better bullet than the PPU, but you'll need a longer barrel to get that 1,100 fps.

PPU is really just target ammo.

It is very accurate in all my 10mms.

Check out the new S&B 10mm load. Can't beat the price. Shoots great.

I'll look into it.

Is it sold as self defense ammo?  If so that's pretty garbage.  But if it's just run of the mill JHP target ammo then gel penetration performance doesn't really matter.

I didn't even break 1000 fps with this stuff out of my Glock 20.
