Underwood all the way.
They actually hit advertised velocity. The same cannot be said about Doubletap.

Double Tap has finally adjusted their advertised velocity to reflect reality. I still hold their dishonesty against them, but that results in a tough choice. Underwood is seriously hot, reasonably priced, and honest while the ammo that DT makes produces velocities that are more appropriate for the projectiles. I think the Underwood 165 gr Gold Dot is a little too fast for the bullet design, but DT pushes it to a speed that is more reasonable and results in better performance.
Or skip both. The load you want depends on what you want to do with it. Woods defense? I'd probably go with 220 gr hard cast, Federal 180 gr Trophy Bonded soft point, or a 200 gr XTP. For personal defense, virtually any 165 - 180 gr JHP, especially Gold Dots, will work well, but the Hornady 175 gr Critical Duty is pretty legit.
I've done a LOT of gel testing (69 tests and counting) with 10mm. All in calibrated, 10% natural gelatin. Take a look at
this playlist if you have time.
