Way back when I was going to the range at lease once a week.
And ammo was cheap!
Most auto shooter would frame from using ammo in aluminum cases!
Even for practice/training.
An aggressive auto tended to or could rip the rim off the aluminum cases.
Which resorted in a jam!
Now that  more manufacturer are now loading their ammo in aluminum cases!!!
Even some self defense ammo I have been told.
Has anyone had any reliability issues with said ammo?
I'm old school, I only use aluminum cases ammo in my revolvers!
So in your IMHO, aluminum cases gtg?

Just burnt through a few hundred rounds this weekend. I had 2 fte, but my gun was dirty so I can't really blame the aluminum case.

My wife and two teenage sons just fired 300 rounds each of CCI Blazer that I purchased in 2005.

The rounds were fired in a one day training course with a local instructor. The guns were a German made Sig 226, Beretta 92G and a Springfield XD Service model-each pistol has MANY rounds through them-several thousand apiece anyway.... was clean, lubed, with proper, regular, maintenance. Magazines were ancient Zig Zag Sigs, the infamous CheckMate USGI for the Beretta and factory Springfields..... Every round fired and extracted without any issues. This ammo was stored in a .30 cal can in a closet in my home, no dessicant.

I have shot quite a bit of this ammo over the last few years. It was purchased VERY cheaply and I bought enough at the time to literally break a shopping cart....I will be shooting it for some time to come.

Dunno what more you would want.

My department uses it as our training/practice ammo. It's always been GTG.

I've always bought it as a less expensive factory training round over brass case.

It's my all round go to plinking round.

45acp in G21 & G30
9mm in G17, Ruger LC9 & MP 5
38 spl in S&W 642 & Ruger Blackhawk

Well you posted really good for a three time dead man person.
Would you like to explain that statement?
I did not see any tags like: or or as if you where joking!

From the other post I see maybe my old info was bad.

Sorry my first post need a lot more of:

I have never had an issue with the aluminum cases in my revolvers or semi-autos.  Shot a bunch of Blazer 38 Special and 45ACP.  I even reloaded some of the Blazer aluminum 45ACP cases with light target loads for my XD-45.  Mostly because everyone said it wouldn't work.  It worked just fine after a little tweaking although they usually split the second time I reloaded them or the third time I fired them.

Never had any problems with 9mm or 45acp.  I've fired too man rounds of them to count since the 90's.  Old .357mag or .44mag could be a little "sticky" in chambers, but that's not really unusual.  I understand it's not recommended to use a steady diet of them in lever action rifles for fear of tearing off a rim.

Actually there's only one company that's making aluminum cased ammo and that's CCI.

I've been using the aluminum Blazer ammo since the '80s and I've hade very little problems with this ammo in various calibers from 25ACP to 44Mag and literally thousands of rounds in 9mm.

My local wm sells the federal aluminum for 9.99- I want to buy some and try it. Is this stuff dirty? I made the mistake of shooting two boxes of Tula through my mk25 just to see how it it would fair (100%, very accurate ill admit) but Damn that stuff was so nasty, gritty and a pain to clean.

I'm looking to stock up on a clean 9mm cartridge, I have a lot of mouths to feed.

I picked up 850 rounds of Federal aluminum cased 9mm at walmart, 9.97 a box. I have shot 700 of it through my Sig mk25, Beretta m9, and Dj Getz mp5 clone SBR, not a single malfunction. Accuracy was more then acceptable and excellent in the mp5 w rds attached. Not dirty either which I was really happy with. I buy it if im not purchasing online and wanting to pay cash for ammo.

My Colt Series 70s don't like aluminum-cased ammo. 45acp. Jam. FTE. Etc.

I put 900 rounds of ten year old Blazer through a Glock 34 this weekend. I had one FTE that was cured with a rack and roll. As others have noted I have had issues in my two 9 mm AR carbines, not ejecting, mangling the cases But it has been very accurate in those guns and I need to shoot them more as they are fairly new and it may be a "set up" issue, the damn 9 mm Ar's can be pretty finicky....

there is no aluminum case defensive ammo that I am aware of, just people who don't know what zinc plated brass looks like.

the worst downside to aluminum ammo is the range officer yelling at you in my experience, but some ranges allow it.

I have shot well over 10,000 rounds of the 9mm and 45 with no problems
I use the 124 in my Uzi . It runs like a champ . A friend I shoot with has won several pistol matches with it .

I have shot thousands upon thousands of aluminum cased rounds through many different handguns since 1987 and have never had a problem. However my 10.5" 9mm AR does not function 100% with aluminum cased ammo. I may get through one mag with no problems then the next mag will have lots of stoppages.

Have had no problems with the 9mm federal aluminum.
I've put 350 rounds through my Glock 19, 26 and kahr pm9 evenly.
Have not tried the .45acp yet but for the price I'll probably pick some up soon and try it out.

I've shot Blazer Aluminum since 1996. I'd say it accounts for 50% of my pistol training. I don't know how many thousands of rounds 20 years worth of shooting it comes out to but it's a lot. Never had a problem ever that was related to this ammo in 9mm, .40cal, and .45acp... I stock it and Blazer Brass for SHTF with no worries!

I'm 99% sure that was only because they didn't want to sort it out from the brass when they wanted to sell the empty cases as scrap...
