I bought one of the Remington UMC value packs.  Low cost ammo that was available locally (no shipping).

There were two things I did not like about it:
- The jackets were brass, which seem to be horribly inaccurate.  (Or rather another forum said people found it to be inaccurate in Glocks.)  Last time I bought this stuff (a few years ago) the jackets were copper.
- It was really dirty.  A lot of fouling all over the inside and outside of this pistol.  I don't remember it being this dirty either.

What is your preferred factory load?

With ammo pricing being what they are, it would be a good time to invest in some reloading gear.

I like the Federal "Red Box" ammo in 9mm and .45 ACP from Wal-Mart.
If you can find the 100 packs in 45, they're about $9 cheaper than two of the 50 packs.

Any more, I'm not sure I'd give Remington ammo a look in any caliber. Not even their rimfire.

I have been shooting oodles of Federal Aluminum 45 in my two HK made 45s and I have yet to have a malfunction.

I also really like the euro stuff for 9mm (Privi, Geco, S&B, Fiocci, perfecta)  All have worked great and are usually less expensive than american made 9mm.  I also like the smaller boxes as they are easier to fit in my range bag

I've been using speer lawman 124gr TMJ lately.

I've shot about 500 rounds of it so far with no problems. It's a little hotter than your standard Walmart ammo IMO, and accuracy is pretty good.

Can be had at target sports USA in 115,124, and 147 flavor for $239 shipped per 1000 rounds.

Eta: the 147 is $259 shipped.

Favorite is still 9mm S&B 115 gr. FMJ,  I've recently shot Armscor 124 gr. and really like those as well.  Shooting from S&W M&P 9 FS and Shield, also my QC10 CLT9MM SBR.  I just bought a S&W M&P 22 Compact, and I'm having fun plinking with that gun.  22lr ammo seems like it's coming back but at higher prices than what I remember seeing maybe 3-4 years ago.  Recently bought 1000 CCI Mini Mags for $0.12/round, which seems like 2X from just a few years ago

I like anything that goes bang! I actually shoot a lot of Freedom munitions and have had really good luck with it. My glock will eat anything though. I've been shoot some Fiocchi lately as well with good luck.

I load most of my ammo but when I need a few boxes for the range I buy what ever Wally World has the cheapest. Lately that has been fed aluminum case or Perfecta. Perfecta has brass jacketed bullets but they shoot fine from my 9mms including Glocks.

Been using a lot of freedom munitions the past 10-12 months. 9 mm and 38 spcl.  Also using some Geco in 38.

I know a lot of people seem to knock it, but ive had great luck out of the Perfecta 9mm from WalMart. Less than 11 bucks a box, shoots pretty clean and plenty accurate enough for training ammo. My local supply is drying up though, so ill be looking for something else when its all gone.

If your buying ammo from Walmart your overpaying, mail order ammo is always the way to go

Use AimSurplus.com or SGAmmo.com

Wolf
Geco
Privi-Partizan
PPU

Any of the above are GTG for range ammo, I just buy whatever is cheapest at the time

I've never had any issues with the Perfecta I've bought, I believe it's made by Fiocchi.

I do not think I have used a factory load for practice in 30 years.
They have just about always been more expensive than reloading.

9mm 115 in Fiocchi and ... don't laugh: Cabela hustles the Herter's Nylon coated lead 115 gr rounds and they pattern tight in my CZ's  and leave no copper streaks to clean. Not really cheap at $13.99/50 but I certainly would buy again as it is consistent for me.

I have been using it for many years and cannot remember ever having a problem.  Every now and then I'll use something else, but I primarily use Winchester white box.

Whatever is cheap & available. USA white-box, Federal, UMC, S&B, whatever. UMC tends to have more muzzle flash than most, but not a deal-killer imo.

I'm picky about my carry ammunition but not worried so much about range stuff.
