Thanks for reporting on this. I'm getting the impression that it must be really hard to engineer both expansion and penetration in a .380 Too bad they aren't projecting something better than hydrashok.. would like to CC my Walther PP if only ammo with acceptable terminal performance were available. |

Arent there two loads out there that pass. I think the hornady xtp bullet loaded by precision one was one of them.

If I were to carry a .380 instead a .38 special I would hope for better performance than either the Hydrashok or XTP 380. XTP doesn't offer much expansion and both of them appear to clog easily (as much as you can trust online testing anyway..). Kind of disappointed to hear the HST doesn't penetrate enough. If I had to carry a .380 would likely be the hydrashok and hope it didn't clog.
