I have a 3 inch model 629.  as a result ejecting 44 special and 44 magnums sometime is difficult due to the short ejector.  I am thing of using 44 Russian brass loaded with 200 or 240 lead swc at about 850 feet per second.
That should generate about 350 foot pounds of energy punching a half inch hole.  The empties will eject cleanly.  Speed Loaders will hold the cases a little more snug without the wobble.
Any thoughts from our readers.

1.Have owned three 629s , one currently and never had your problem. Ejector rod is plenty long.

2. 44 Russian brass is expensive and not much load data out there for an obsolete caliber
Starline use to make new.brass

3. If you want a 240 at 850 , get a 625 (45acp) and some moon clips.

4. Please reduce your font size.
