THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT .22 1100 rds bulk, 800 CCI MiniMag, 100 CCI Stinger 9mm 700 rds 5.56 1080 rds 7.62x54R 875 rds 12Gauge 103 shells .45 35...but no .45 to shoot it currently. Grand total 4793 rounds. Better use some this weekend. I'm cheating with the .22's, and I'm sure many of you will trump my hoarding skills, but it still seems to be becoming a sick little obsession. |

You must be a MSM journalist to think that piddly amount constitutes a hoard of ammo.

Grab all the .22 you can. You'll be burning it up if we end up like last time.

I realized I was an ammo hoarder when I had to move most of it out of the closet I had it in because the weight of it was causing the floor to sag and the adjoining wall to pull away from the ceiling...
When you get to the point when weight distibution in your home becomes a real, serious, issue, THEN you are a hoarder...LOL |

I think I found that much ammo in my couch cushions when I started running low last election.
It's a hell of a start, though. I buy a box of 9mm, 45ACP, 38 Super and 5.56 a week. Got a shitload of it by now. I'm not getting caught with my pants down like I did 4 years ago. |

I need to stock up some ammo, but probably just as important if not more, I need to stock up on more casting lead.

When your girlfriend or wife tells you she is leaving you if you buy any more ammo, then you are just starting to hoard
That is a good start. I recommned saving up and buying one case at a time rather than the box a week. You will save yourself 20% at least. Try to stick to the same brands and sizes of ammo to get a consistent shot picture. For example, if you use 127 grain HP for your 9mm, don't buy 115 grain, 147 grain, etc and expect to have the same point of impact. Shotgun rounds are much cheaper in bulk. I buy from SGAMMO and get the federal tactical with flite control wads. Great stuff. |

What's funny is that many of the posters here could outfit a small expeditionary force with their ammo stash. I hope someday to be worthy enough to count myself amongst them. Until then I just count myself as a groveling amature.

You have not even earned your junior ammo hoarder badge yet, get back to us when you hit 10K in a single rifle caliber.

Good start to your hoard, I dont apoligize for a minute for the ammo that I have stashed, I find it amusing that some guys think people who plan ahead for any possible panics are public enemy #1. I got caught flat footed before the last panic and had very small amount of ammo on hand, when I went to the local shops only to find the shelves bare I didnt blame the guys who did prepare..I blamed myself for the lack of preparing and told myself never again and I have some work to do. So now I buy a couple boxes a week(sometimes a little more) never put myself in a financial bind and walk out feeling good about planning ahead, enjoy your new hobby.
