THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I think my most hated is Remington, my most loved in Speer Lawman. The Speer stuff always felt like it was loaded hot and it was always decently clean. The Remington and UMC stuff has always been dirty and even fed poorly. Their QC has left me jaded as well. I once had a round in a box that had a rim on it.
I wish I had taken a pic of it. The former GF found it when she was loading mags. I've recently had a round fail to chamber in my 1911. Same round wouldn't chamber in a friends XD45 either. WTF, Remington? |

Winchester NATO or Ranger, but those are not that easily obtainable, for average store bought brand, Federal.

I also think the Speer Lawman is the best I have used.
When you can find it for the same prices as American Eagle/PMC/Blazer Brass ect.... its great. But I dont pay more for it. |

Best? IMO:
1) Hirtenberger Patronenfabrik 2) IMI 3) RUAG Ammotec (Geco, RWS, DAG) |

Speer Lawman is what I always stock up on when I find it for decent prices. I also don't mind WWB, never have had any problems with it.

One ragged hole at 15 feet if you take your time, some could do better I really like this stuff , it is clean , accurate , and priced right I am thinking of Self Defense with this round out of a gun that only is reliable with FMJ it is 830 FPS @ the muzzle and almost 400 FPE at the muzzle |

Speer Lawman, Winchester White Box, Magtech etc.
Remington has run bad in everything I've fired it in over the last 10 years. The first to go was the former quality 22lr line, just the standard ammo. Next was the Hornet/Hyper velocity higher end Remington .22lr. Then the handgun ammo went all to hell. The UMC first, and then everything else other than the defense lines. Rifle ammo was next. It's become unreliable, inaccurate. and very dirty. It was good ammo in the 80s and mid 90s. I really don't know what happened to it. I've had it not fire with solid primer strikes, I've had primers that were loaded sideways, bent case rims from the factory, projectiles that were loose in the case to the point you could wiggle them out with your fingers, and, projectiles that were set back into the case so far the the ogive was inside the case mouth. |
