I have an issue that I need advice. I picked up a new 1911 government model. Name brand for quality. The pistol out of the box grouped far left. I adjusted the sights to the point whereas the rear sight is far right. Does not look right so it is not right. I will be contacting the company for warranty consideration but  would you call this a barrel fit up issue? This is a premium 1911, slide tight, etc.

I had the same issue with my SA RO compact.  Only drifting the rear far enough to to get POI and POA meant the rear was partially out of the dovetail.

Called SA customer service, they sent me a shipping label and in three weeks I had it back.  I don't know how they fixed it, but it is dead on with the rear centered.   I do kinda wish I knew the fix, but
It works so I'm happy.

It could be anything, the slide could be out of spec in a number of different areas, the barrel could be fit incorrectly or the barrel bushing could be fit incorrectly. Since it's new, send it back for repairs.
