I posted this in the 1911 forum and then thought maybe this might be a more logical place to ask...

Anyone recognize the maker of this manual safety? It's on a 70-series I bought used, and I'd like to put the same thing on a couple other 1911's if I can find it.

The gun was worked over by John Dixon in the 80's, a very good gunsmith and awesome IPSC shooter.

(If the gun looks 'off' in the pic, it's got an AA .22 kit on it at the moment.)

Thanks

I believe that's an early version of this safety: http://www.johnmasen.com/Colt-Model-1911-Extended-Checkered-Thumb-Safety-p/4549cb.htm

Thanks; I went with the Wilson 6BN; they were about the closest I could find.

Thanks again.
