My old on duty carry pistol. Mod. 64, 4".

My old back-up/off duty pistol. Mod 37.

I carried my own pistols on duty.

The Mod. 37 is retired. The Mod. 64 is my wife’s house gun.

I found this model 64 in the bargain bin at a local
shop this week for $75 .

It was covered with nasty brown rust stains , but the cylinder
and barrel were bright and shiny and showed almost no wear .
The wood grips showed signs of water damage and had some cracks .
So I broke it down and spent about 2 hrs with a brown and green
scotch brights , rubbing all the parts down in the same direction .
Then I did my first revolver trigger job which actually came out
better then I expected , I then threw on an old set of Pachmayr
grips I had laying around .

I was pretty pleased with my resto job , but the real joy
came when I took it to the range . It shoots so good I
may have to buy it a set of pretty grips

Yeah ....... Whatever

I only have two at the moment.

My S&W Model 57 .41 mag (never fired)

And my S&W Model 28 .357 mag

I like the .357 a lot, haven't decided yet whether I'm going to take the .41 out and fire it yet.

Personally, I feel that guns are meant to be shot, not just looked at, but that's just my opinion. I bought a Colt SP-1 Carbine made in 1972 NIB back about 6 years ago. I stripped it, lubed it, and took it to the range. It's a fun toy. I just can't look at a gun and not shoot it!

My friend has a M57, nickel, 8-3/8" barrel in the factory presentation case. Nice gun.

I agree with you, the few guns I've ended up with that had never been shot I've either shot or sold and bought something that I would shoot. This M57 also has a factory presentation case. I just need to clean all the stuff out of it (the lining deteriorated badly). But since I've also got about 6 or 7 rifles that need shooting and three other handguns in line before this one that I also have to take out and at least shoot once, it may be awhile before I get to this one.

Maybe I should just cut down on buying guns since I just don't seem to rotate them enough?

i'm working on a wheel of N-frames.

Left bank are the small bores, 38/44 Outdoorsman, 28-2 357Mag, 27-2 357Mag
Right bank are the large bores, 45ACP M25-2, 45LC 25-3, and a 29-3 44Mag.

Working on some Pre-model number guns like 1950 Target Model 44spl and 45ACP, same for a pre-Model 27 to match my 38/44 Outdoorsman.

Here's the 25-3 in it's case with trinkets. Yes, it's a shooter. Would rather have 20-30 years in sentimental value than worry about a revolver that rates at 600 dollars NIB going up maybe 200-300 dollars over the next 30 years(made them in BIG numbers).
