Howdy All,

Couldn't help myself with the super savings S&W had on the Shields so I "Fo'ed" twice.

First one was 9mm w/o safety, but with factory night sights.

Second was "standard" 9mm w/ safety and no night sights for my daughter.

I strongly believe that a pistol like the Shield shouldn't have that tiny 'safety' that 'could' end up 'on' to keep the gun from firing when it really needs it to go BANG!!  ASAP...

So, I know that the Big Brother (the M&P) can have the safety removed and function.

What about the Shield if I'd like that 'safety' to go bye bye?

Any and all insight is appreciated.

Hadn't thought of You-Tube but guess these days it should have been my first "Go to"

Thanks!

The Shield safety is pretty stiff, I've carried with it off for a while and never had it accidentally engage before.  As long as you have a good holster that covers the safety, it shouldn't be an issue.

I'd really like to either get a "extra" safety and cut off the activation leg as per the video.  Mine is stiff, but you never know when that lever may be out of position...

I always trained and carried with the safety off, but was worried about that one in a million chance of it being activated when I needed it most. Happily switched to the non-safety model of Shield when they were released.
