Just bought a shield 9 today, took it apart to clean no problem go to reassemble and the slide catch won't catch. i followed the instruction and don't know why it won't reassemble.

i did previously have a regular mp9 and had no issues. what am i doing wrong, or is this unit defective?

Mine that I got did same thing. I just held the slide back and flipped the take down lever.

Seems to have. I haven't had a chance to take it to the range yet.

i did like you and rotated the lever and it seems to be back to normal as far as the catch is consurned. thanks

I have the same issue if I install the recoil rod/spring slightly different. Try rotating the assembly and that should take care of it.
