Will a 2.0 backstrap fit a 1.0 with no modification? And are they pretty similar in texture to a CORE?

Yes, it will fit.

Where can we buy the new ones separately?  I want to try a medium-large as I have small palms and long fingers.
Will the newer ones come out eventually?

They fit, they are a bit more aggressive than the Pro back straps.
I've seen a few pop up on Ebay.
