Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - S&W 1911 magazine Issues

hello, have had a S&W 1911 for about a year, only used the two factory mags and a McCormick mag and the weapon fails to hold open on last round fired on all mags  recently purchased a Wilson combat mag  and i could only make the handgun hold open half the time on a empty mag what is the issue?

Pull the slide off and put the slide stop back in.  Insert an empty mag and look closely at how the mag follower engages the slide stop.   Might be your slide stop is slightly out of spec.  Take pics and show us.
