Looking at adding a set of NS to my Shield, Im leaning towards the Ameriglo I-Dot (SW-141) but figured I would see what the hive consensus was on available options

Thoughts?

I have similar Ameriglos on my 45c, but I put XS Big Dots on my Shields - they work well with my bifocals and without glasses.

Trijicon HD's.  Love them so much they are on my M&P Shield 9, 9 Pro, 9C, and my wife's Glock.

I-dots are very nice, but as you can see the rear sight has almost no vertical edge to push on.  There is a VERY thin edge at the bottom, that's it. Makes it difficult to install, even with a sight pusher.

It depends on the sight pusher being used. If the insert block is angled (for a Glock rear sight for instance), the Ameriglos go on very easy.

After reading the thread about the shooting of a home invader in the head with a Shield equipped with those Ameriglos,

I got them and had my gunsmith install them.

Very happy with the results.

I just ordered these Ameriglo I Dot O/G sights. I also bought a sight pusher for the Shield from Midway USA. They will get here Tuesday and Wednesday.

I had the Ameri-Glo I-Dot SW-141 (same as the OP listed) put on my Shield 2 months ago.  The LGS installs sights cheap if you buy from him, so I had him order me a set.  His sight pusher was for a standard M&P, not the Shield.  He had to install them the old fashioned way, with a brass punch.  He said the old sights were harder to get off than putting the new ones on.  Not a bad $10 install.

So far, they are okay.  I wanted the I-dot set-up since I'm used to Heinie Straight Eight sights.  I'm not used to the white dot outline.  I considered the Ameri-Glo Hackathorn set, but didn't want an orange front.  Still, better than stock sights.
