What can you tell me about this? It has a 4" barrel and appears to be almost new. A friend wants $700 for it.

More likely that it's a 3 1/2 inch, 4 inch model 27s are fairly rare.

The model 27 is THE premier Smith & Wesson revolver..

Well Hell OK then. I'm picking it up this afternoon, pics to follow.

Buddy says it's 4" but any woman will tell you we can't measure. I don't know about box or paperwork., yet.

Thanks.

I've got it, i'm not positive of what the barrel length is but I think it it's 4 inch.

I'll have to get home in a couple of hours before I have access to a tape measure. You measure from the forcing come to the muzzle, correct?

It came with an original box and all the original paperwork including the Smith & Wesson registration paperwork. Brass brush and swab but no screwdriver, darn it. It also has the original wood grips.

That's damn nice. Put some good wood on it though and get rid of the rubber.

I have the original wood grips, they were part of the sale. My friend bought this last year from a local gun store that had it as part of an estate sale.

Sweet, the Hogues may not be the prettiest but as I find I shoot the best with them so wear them they do!

Well this revolver shoots as good as it looks. I put 60 rounds thru it today, a mix of lswc over 4.2 of Bulleye and Hornady XTPs over some 2400. A true magnum loading. The dbl action trigger was moderate and the single action is fairly light. The cans and plastic bottles didn't stand a chance.

You did very well, especially in today's market! Smith's of all varieties are bringing a lot of dough, particularly Model 27's.
