THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT I am hoping to shoot it this weekend. Eventually I want to pick up a 9mm barrel and some mags, to add some versatility to it. I picked it up as a "Range Kit" through Cabela's for a decent price. It came with a bladetech holster and double mag pouch, 3 mags, a Uplula mag loader, ear protection and a plastic hard case. Not a bad set up over all. I am also hoping to pick up a small FDE backstrap, as I think the black one looks kinda odd on the FDE frame.
Any thoughts or comments regarding this gun that I need to be aware of? -Tac |

Well, I got the new M&P .40 to the range today... I put 50 rounds of 180 grn Winchester SXT hollow points through it, 50 rounds of Federal 165 grain hollow points (man are those HOT), 25 rounds of Federal 165 grn Hydra Shocks, and 150 rounds of Speer 180 grn FMJ "lawman" through it without one single hickup. It shot about 1.5-2 inches left for me at 10 yards, so I will have to drift the sights a little. I ran the gun fast enough to get the slide (and take down lever) HOT.. too hot to touch. I let it cool and finished up.
Over all, I am very pleased with this pistol, (as I expected from previous experience with my M&P 45 and M&P 22). It is accurate, reliable and easy to shoot. I am probably going to place some grip tape on it here and there, drift the sights to point of aim and call it good until I can pick up a 9mm barrel/mags. If you are looking for a baseball bat simple gun that works every time, you could do a lot worse than the M&P .40. -Tac |
