I've got an M&P9L that I'm working on setting up a little better for competition. Specifically, I've been looking at some of the aftermarket guide rods and recoil springs. Is there a resource for figuring out what spring weights to go with? I'm planning on shooting primarily the Hornady Match/Steel Match 9mm with the Hornady Action Pistol bullets. Also, does anyone have experience with the tungsten guide rods like those offered by SSS? Are they worth the investment?

Thanks for the link. I'm assuming you've tweaked it further since then –– what was your indication as far as what weights to try or go with?

To tell you the truth, I cannot tell that much of a difference in the stock, to 17 to 22lb.

I run 20lbs in ALL of mine, and I have never had a problem. If anything, it tightens the gun up and delays unlocking. No real downside, and POTENTIAL benefits.
