You are paying for the Performance Center sear and the Novak sights.

What do you want the pistol for?

I just recently picked one up. If you want the longer slide/barrel you will have to pay the extra 100 bucks or so. The cheaper M&P9L (Long) was discontinued so now they only offer it in the Pro version. Honestly you could get a regular M&P9 for much cheaper and install an apex trigger and have a much better trigger and install the sights YOU want and you would save money if you planned on getting that stuff anyway. I bought the pro because it was the only way to get the long barrel version though. I picked up my M&P9 Pro 5" for $570 shipped. I think Palmetto had all regular M&P's for $399 shipped at one point. You can do a lot of good to that pistol for $170. Just my opinion.
