this may be a stupid question, but on my full size m&p 9mm, when i took the barrel out to clean, i found that the barrel is raised a bit in a complete circle about an inch from the end of the barrel. all the way around. is it supposed to be smooth all the way from front to back or is this swell normal? i thought it mayy be normal since it was a consistent swell all the way around. it is very slight but can be felt by running your finger up and down the barrel.

It is for barrel lockup. Perfectly normal.
