I couldn't stand the rear sight on mine so I replaced it with one from an M&P9. Just had to stone it down a little. Vast improvement.

I just installed a rear from a FS 40 and it went in very easily, no sight pusher needed, just a punch and a dozen taps of a 5oz tac hammer. You can order a new std M&P replacement rear from S&W for $16+s/h. The front, on the other hand, would need to be filed down a bit because the channel is slightly smaller. I simply put a dot of white model paint on the front sight to match the rears since the OE front isn't bright white and is much smaller than normal. |
