THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Like many of you I jumped on the Shield as fast as I could. I picked mine up yesterday and put about 175 rnds through it yesterday evening. I'm really happy with the feel and the trigger thus far and after another couple hundred rounds of practice I plan on using this as my CCW.

So what holsters are you all planning on using. I'm interested in the Remora and have been leaning that way as an option (what size is the right one??? 4-5?). The Desantis Sof-tuck also looks interesting for a less expensive option. That PDF S&W put out on accessories seemed to recommend the same model that works for a G19 which seems strange. Then there are of course the more expensive options like Crossbreed.

So what is everyone planning on using to carry this their Shield.

I will be purchasing a Theis IWB hybrid holster for my Shield in horsehide.

He is currently making them and you can order on his website right now.

As of right now my wife has taken my Shield! We tried several different holsters...
Currently it works well in an Uncle Mikes 12
It actually conceals real well for her and her body type... (shh...dont tell that I told)

Wife wearing the M&P Shield in an Uncle Mikes size 12 holster!
She's 5'3" and about 135...conceals extremely well!!

Concealed with a thin fitting t-shirt

But I know that any Glock 26 holster will work! At least the Galco brand.
I tried 4-5 different leather belt holster and they all held the shield extremely well!

You tried this with the leather formed G26 holsters? I'd be worried about it fitting loosely as there is almost 1/4" difference in slide width.

Anyone have any idea on Remora size? I emailed them asking what they recommended.

yes I did! Granted I know Galco leather has a very snug fit brand new, but the Shield fit extremely well!
I could take the firearm, holstered, turn it up side down and shake it without it falling out!
Barrel length was also good!

Also, looking at this link to S&W...accessories, it gives some options on holsters for the Shield.

I bought the PTone holster from Pistol wear. Looks nice for running and gym carry.

I got one for carrying my J-frame while biking... works great, but the logo on the inside of the strap gets itchy when I start sweating.

Well I ended up ordering the DeSantic Sof-Tuck from opticsplanet. Its the same model as the SR9 compact (which is both longer and wider... strange).

I've been emailing with Remora. They say the size needed is #4A. The A being added room for a laserguard. I'm email back to confirm why this would be necessary. Will update when I find out more.

Carrying mine in this.

Will also be building up some leather holsters, and maybe a couple different kydex versions.

Nice!
Might be interested in some of the leather or different kydex versions in the future.

Sof-tuck is on back-order so I went ahead and ordered a #4ART Reinforced Remora with Sweat Shield to try. Hopefully put another couple hundred rounds down the pipe this weekend then start carrying.

It fits OK in my Galco IWB Stow-N-Go for G19 that I use for my CZ P-01. Its actually a little tight on the bottom of the trigger guard due to difference in slide height I assume.

I got a Desantis Nemesis for pocket carry. It works in my cargo shorts but it leaves a pretty noticeable square outline. Even though my J frame seems like pretty much the same size the outline of it in a holster seems to disappear better.

Not sure what IWB I will get. For my full size all metal guns I love the MTAC but I don't think I will need a hybrid holster for something this small and light. I'll probably look for a simple leather holster.

I'm just using a basic Uncle Mikes #15 IWB- seems comfortable & easy to extract.
Only a box of Win 115s through it so far, but really like it! My wife was shooting her LCR beside me doing so/so on the steel knock downs, so I had her run a mag thru the Shield with MUCH better results... cudda been a mistake

A little holster info. My Comptac Mtac holster for my full size M&P fits the shield nicely! Very comfy and light on the hip.

The Pistol wear PT-ONE holster arrived today. I will be writing a review on this holster in a bit after I have logged a few miles of running and workout out with this holster on!!

There is a list of accessories for it on the S&W website when you go to the shields page.
It has holsters and sights and stuff

Is your wife a member? Tell her thanks for the pics! She is around my size and that looks like something I would wear.
