Does anyone have any experience with them? In my quest to have night sights installed on my 92 Compact I came across this company http://www.amerigunusa.com

They are located in MI and are a installer for Trijicon according to their website. I called this morning and spoke with a lady there who told me they no longer drill the front sight and instead machine a dovetail to accept a new tritium front sight. She confirmed this is the gunsmith who says they have been doing this for years. I was a little surprised by this because I have always been told there wasn't enough material to machine a new sight there. Has anyone seen a Beretta 92 with this done before? I am very intrested in pursuing this but I am unsure if it is really doable and will remain reliable (slide cracking).

I had them drill and insert a tritium dot on my M9A1 within the past year. There is no way I would want anybody to mill a dovetail on the standard 92 series slide. They did a great job on my M9A1. Did they indicate why they no longer drill the front sights?

She said due to "regulations", they no longer drill the front sight and install the tritium. I assume this is the same reason Tooltech doesn't drill the front sight anymore.

I just received an email from them about drilling the front sight.
Due to new NRC regulations we can no longer drill the front sight and install Tritium directly into the slide. We can however dovetail the front sight and install a custom front. The cost would be $180 for front only plus $20 for S/H and return insurance. are also able to do a yellow outline instead of the white.

I replied with a request inviting them here to Q&A about this since the current thinking is that a front dovetail cut is not advisable. I also asked for photos of a finished dovetail cut.

There simply isn't a lot of metal on the front of the slide on a standard 92 series pistol. Perhaps it can be done, but the metal would be pretty thin at the front top of the slide.

I guess they didn't need any new customers. My email request for photos of the final product were ignored. Oh well, the search continues I guess.
