Just ordered a 92S.  I have had a 92FS in the past as well as shooting the M9 in the Corps.
Any one get one of these  and do the old GI mags work good in them.   I have some of the GI mags but have not looked to see if they have the hole at the bottom for the S  mag release.

When I had a S model I cut a hole in a few old gi mags.  They work great.

Received my 92S  Overall in good condition, not much holster ware.   Went out to the shop to c if I could find some of my Beretta mags and did but they did not have the notch at bottom.   But did find a Taurus PT92 mag that did have the notch.  Fit perfectly.   So if you do get one of these older Taurus mags seem to b a good way to go if they are cheap enough.

These work: Taurus 92 mag with lower cut out
they are cheap, well made, great spring and follower, and well finished.  SOG still has 92S's for $279

All Beretta factory mags have dual cutouts. One for the FS/M9 and one for the S model heel release.

No they don't. I have a lot of factory and m.d.s. mags and zero have the heel cutout.

I would probably buy a 92S if I could get a deal on one.
Nice range gun.

Midway had a good supply of the dual cutout  mags (with the unimpressive plastic baseplates) not long ago. Sold out now for a while.

Judging from the few sources currently offering Beretta FACTORY mags, it does not appear that Beretta holds it to be a priority to make lots of spare mags available.

I bought a recently-produced M9 last year. The mags that came with the gun did not have both cutouts.

Keep your eye on gunbroker. Every now and then a police trade in will pop up. I was able to get a 92f for $300. It is beat up and finish is rough but internally was in really great shape.
