Local place has new Beretta 92FS Police Specials on sale for $499.   Ad states that it comes with 3 mags.  Should I jump on this deal?  If I do, the Beretta will pretty much be a target/range pistol.

I would probably leave it.

I've seen like new 92's for less than that.

Less than $499?  I have never seen a new one under that price.  Got a link for a better deal?

They're always used, but excellent condition.

Keep an eye on backpage.

Used ones here on backpage are usually around $550-$600.. More than a new one.

Not always, but usually.

I took a friend to a Houston gun show last weekend. We found a NEW 92FS for $485. He bought it.

Since you said it is NEW, I'd say go for it.

They're $500-550 around here.

$500 is great for a NIB Beretta 92FS. Plus Police Specials come with 3 mags, and has an option for 3-Dot Trijicon Night Sights.

You can find LNIB for less, but most NIB go for at least $550.

Good price in my part of town.

Can you confirm its NIB?

If yes, then grab it.

My police special was $339 a year ago but had been a duty gun for 10 years.

If it is only gonna be a range gun, you have no need for night sights.  You'd be better off getting a 92S from SOG for $279.  Way better off.  That gives you $200+ for ammo and more mags.

I like night sights better even in the day, personally....
