Had to sell my M9A1 a few months ago and have serious regrets.  Was by far one of my favorite handguns and one of the most accurate ones I ever fired.  Back in a position to buy another Beretta.  Is the M9A3 worth the extra couple hundred dollars?  I had the D-spring upgrade on my M9 and loved the trigger, plus the elite hammer installed. Is the M9A3 worth it or should I just go back to what I had?

In my view the A3 is certainly worth the premium if you can live with the color. The extras you get with the A3 - night sights, threaded barrel, checkering, convertible from FS to G, Vertec/full-size grip option - are more than worth the difference in price. Add in the undocumented but certainly present extra trigger work the A3s seem to come with (D-spring included) and it seals the deal. If you can live with the color.
