Yeah, I'm a Beretta guy now...

Picked it up today. New to me Beretta 96. After inspecting and cleaning it, it looks to me like it has less than 100 rounds through it and was well cared for. Paid about $500 for it off of Gunbroker. It was my first firearm bought off of there, and I'm glad everything went well.
Everything I need to know I got from watching Gilligan's Island.

Shot it for the first time yesterday, a couple of FTE issues but the mag is very worn, would like to pick up a couple of newer ones if I could find them

Here's my Berettas*, though the pic is not the best:

ETA: Clockwise from the top: PX4 in 9mm, Model 1935 (made in '37,) Model 81, Model 70T, Stampede in .45LC, another PX4 in 9mm, 92FS Inox NS, 92FS (carried as a duty weapon,) 96 Centurion (carried as a duty weapon,) Model 1935 (made in '44, *and actually belongs to the missus,) and in the center a Model 950.
It is not that the inmates are running the asylum––––it is more that the inmates have hired a pack of retarded Irish Setters to run the place, and have retreated to their cells to listen to the talking pecans.

My 1992 made 92FS. I sanded the grips because they got shiny black.

That wooden grip makes the 92FS looks sexier. How hard was it to put that skeleton hammer in?

Very easy, you don't even need any tools except to remove the grips. I watched the video on the Beretta website on how to replace it. I got the grips and the hammer from Brownells, they were about 20% cheaper than Beretta.

I have their regular NP3 on a Kimber 1911 of mine, tell me more about the NP3+. Also.....you bought a $400 gun, and instantly went for the Robar treatment? I like the way you think, good sir!

So how do you like that one? I can't remember if I saw a write up on your blog about this one. I like it a lot.

Let me add mine.

One out of my three .32acp / 7.65mm Browning M35 Berettas. Serial 447XXX from 1941. SA property stamped, which means Suomen Armeija, Finnish Army.

Tossed on top of the crappy setup. Repro M36 summer jacket with Corporal stripes, a holster, two spare mags, fifty round 7.65mm Browning spam can made by VPT (Valtion Patruunatehdas, State ordnance factory), finnish ww2 dog tags and a Suunto M34 compass.

A reason which makes this pistol model special to me, is that my Granpa was issued with one during the Continuation war (against russians) from 1942 to 1944, and in Lapland's war (against germans) in late 1944. He served primary as a messenger and secondary as an anti-tank gunner in the 53rd Infantry regiment, 3rd battallion, 9th company.

Thanks TrackSol,

I cleaned and checked it today. Very solid and well made pistol. Nothing to worry. The holster seems to be originally for Beretta M1915, but those were delivered here back in the days with the pistols.

Me and few friends of mine are going to set up IDPA/Practical styled shooting day with old FN10s, old Berettas, Walther PPKs and of course, some .25acp pocket pistols like FN06...
