I have a 92FS at home also but no pics, just a regular ol' M9 copy anyway.  Might pick up a smaller Beretta for the Mrs or maybe a micro-carry :)

Good looking Beretta. From what I've found, this model is no longer manufactured. I have an opportunity to buy one used and hope to get to it before anyone else !

Actually I was told the same thing when trying to get it from a local place that orginally qouted me for $675. They told me 4 days later the supplier was out because Beretta quit making it and found one they could "make a deal on with me" for $818. I said no thanks to that. I then called Beretta to see if the claim was true.

Beretta informed me that the 96, 92, and their variations are NOT being discontinued, and they will keep producing them. They are their hottest selling products, why quit making them is what they told me.

Also if you search on Gunbroker, there are a few 96 Brigs out their for a good price. I got mine for $640 after shipping and transfer.

Thanks, it is a fun little toy.  Found it on gunbroker last year.  IIRC it was less than $500, including transfer fee.  They seem to be going for a bit more now.

Mark at TROS threaded it for $140.  The Pilot was $3 plus the $2 tax.  Aimpoint almost $4.  Jeez, sure hope my wife doesn't see this post.

OK... I'm not to versed in Cougars.
You can get them in 9mm. Do they take the same mags as a 92? Will the Cougar mags work in a Cx4 Storm?

Cougars use a different mag from both the 92 and the Cx4.  My model is a "Cougar L" and is an even more exotic type of Cougar that requires special Cougar L mags to fit flush. The Cougar L only comes in 9mm and is both slimmer and shorter in the handle than the full sized Cougar.  The Cougar L also features a lightened, bevelled slide.  The full size Cougar comes in 9mm, .45, .357 sig, and .40.  The full size Cougar also comes in Inox in either 9mm or .40.  Lastly there are "mini" variants of the Cougar that come chambered in 9mm, .45, .357 sig, or .40 and use an even shorter mag than the Cougar L but are just as wide as the full sized Cougar.

Cougar9m

I just picked up on this thread and would like to ask you a question.

I have a 21 Bearcat that shoots .22LR. It's not cycling the rounds properly and I was wondering if I need a different type of round or do the magaines need new springs? any help you could give  me would be appreciated.

thanks

I'm assuming it's failing to feed from what you're saying.  .22lr ammo is cheap enough you might just want to try a different brand of ammo or two, if it's still failing then go ahead and get another mag.  That's what I would do.  Besides, if it is the mag you'll always be able to shoot whatever .22lr ammo you may have bought to test, but if it's just the type of ammo there's no point in wating money on a new magazine.

I don't have any experience with Bearcats, but if it's like many other Berettas it should eat most types of ammo fairly well.  If the magazine is old or has been left loaded for extremely long periods of time it could be the spring.  If neither of those changes work take it to a gunsmith, but I doubt you'll have to go to those lengths.

The 92 mags can be altered to fit the 8000..there is a fellow on the net-Pistoleer-that can alter 92/96 mags for the 8000/8040.

As for the Storm..the only Storm that takes Cougar mags is the .45 one. It uses mags from the 8045.

I have the 8000, 8040 and a 8045.

92FS with an early model MR11 for the Surefire X200B.  Traded a Kimber for the gun so I could train like I fight and to be honest, I have no regrets.

Small piece of velcro under trigger guard is for the Glock DG switch for the light that works out OK with the Beretta, just  don't have it mounted in this pic.

I tried but couldn't get it to work right.  Think your original image is way too big.  Photobucket.com is pretty user-friendly for me.

Here's a .22 conversion.  It's at the shop for threading.

96G (Competition)and 92F (Duty)  W/ Friends!
All the mags have Wolf springs and the 96 has Houge grips w/ grip tape added and a Wolf Trigger spring.  I drilled and tapped the mag release to accept a Grip screw that I use as an extended/adjustable button.

Also some of the mags have beem modded to better show ammo counts.  .40 left and 9mm right
