THE IMAGE ABOVE IS A PAID ADVERTISEMENT
Just a FWIW we got some brand new M9s today. All have plastic guide rods, triggers, left safetys and magazine releases. All had the new hex screws and all have 3 dot sights rather than the 2 dot. None of the hammers have part numbers like our older ones do. All the slides are marked PM with what looked like a handstamp. All are in the 1490000 range.

Just thought that some would be interested to know the newest issued pistols are just like the ones being sold as M9s back in the states.

Did you get the M9A1 w/ the lower rail, or just the standard M9?

M9. Not aware that the Army is getting any M9A1 and none of the Marines here have any either.

I posted that back in '09 when I signed for a fresh batch in AFG and was told I was full of it. Nice to see that I wasn't. Do yours have the slant dust covers?

We got similar ones several years ago too. I also had one of our resident rocket scientists call me a know it all and full of shit when he disagreed with me on the description.
OVERKILL GOOD!

Gotta post some pics of that!

Most of the M9's I saw in Iraq looked like they were sand blasted.
Saw a few officers w/ brand new ones.

After seeing so many over 2.5 years contracting for KBR, I had to get one for myself.

We have had those same M9's since about 09 also. I will try to sneak off somewhere that cameras are authorized and get some pics next time I am at work

scottrh2,

Were you there when they came in? I'm just wondering how they are actually shipped from Beretta, as in how's the packaging and what mags are with them? I heard that they were shipping to the military with two CheckMate mags. I know Colt ships M4s to the Army with the Knights Rail and Matech BUIS already attached. Thanks!

They came in a plain jane brown carboard box that all had already been opened for inventory when I saw them. These were shipped with plastic "PB" based blued magazines with the LE/Mil warnings and MB body stampings as well as the NSN. No idea what the MB stands for. Each also came with a -10TM DId not see any foil/VCI wrap trash around.

Cool, thanks. My former unit got their M9s in '95. I was there at the time but wasn't a medic yet or in with the armorer to get any info like that. Besides the markings the mags sound like standard current production Beretta. Thanks again.

This is exactally how ours came as well although I can't swear to the markings on the Beretta sticks I know they were factory.

No, all regular dust covers just like the old ones. Looking at a bunch of them the serial numbers have evolved over the years with the latest being deeply struck while some of the older ones are light and faint...need white out in them to read them. A few old ones went thru ANAD rebuild back in 98 and got the letter "F" added to the sn# for some reason.

You guys care to check something else if you can? On the bottom of the barrels their should be the ASSY # same as on the right side of the slide and on the frame under the left grip panel. This is also the number that used to be on the left side of the hammer. I'm just wondering if its still there? I ask mainly because my brother's civi M9 (serial # M9-101xxx) has it as have others I've had in the past, but my current one I just got (serial # M9-136xxx) the ASSY # is not present on the bottom of the barrel.

Older ones yes the asys number is there. New ones, no, just a PM proofmark on the lug area. No part number on the new hammers either.

Cool, thanks. I thought maybe they slapped a 92 barrel in mine. Good deal.
