Coastie friend is looking to purchase one so she is not scrambling at the last minute to practice before qualification time.

What is the best source these days?

If you check gunbroker.com and auctionarms.com you should have a good idea what a decent price is one can buy on line then shipp to an FFL in their state and do paperwork there. Gunshows, shops that take in used ones can also be a possible.

Very nice price on that. I love mine, and have the .40 with a 357 SIG barrel as well as a .22LR conversion upper. Not everyone likes it but for me... The DAK is awesome. I carry mine in 357.
