I have a Legion P229.  I am a gun freak.  Is there a legitimate reason to buy an M11-A1 other than enjoyment?  Is there any real advantage to this gun over the Legion P229?

Biggest selling point for me is no damn rail!

No difference except the M11 has corrosion resistant internals I hear. And the M11 does not have SRT I think.
They shoot the same to me.
I have a friend with a M11 and I have the Legion.
But I do have the SAO legion.
IMHO the legion SAO is the way to go for range use and the DA/SA is the way to go for carry.
A SAO gun requires a lot of training discipline to be safe, a DA/SA requires very little training discipline to be safe. Of course that's just me.

I LOVE my M11A1.

They do have the Short Reach Trigger as well as the Short Reset Trigger. SRT'ed SRT

Stupid sticker fell off within 5 minutes of unboxing, but who cares. It's tied for my favorite handgun with my USP Compact.

Over a legion the only reason is no rail and the internals coating. I love my m11 and it's my edc. It's a great gun and although there are some other differences it's very slight.

No rail.

The only reason to buy one.

Save a few hundred and buy a good condition German P228 and put in an SRT

I've had mine for about a year now and love it. I did change out the short reach trigger for the standard one. It's what a carry most of the time now.

best reason to get one over a Legion is they do offer a threaded M11 for very little extra over the standard model.  Considering the gun has SRT and you get a threaded one for under $1k, it might be one of the better deals offered by Sig.  I would like to get a newer one, but I have a P228 and a P229 SAS which is one of the last P229s made that doesn't have a rail and takes the original 9mm sized magazines.

Not sure I want to invest in another set of mags and its nice to have interchangeability between P226 and the P228/9.

completely unrelated but I do find it funny that they mark it M11 when my issued M11 is marked P228

I would rather have the M11-A1 over the Legion P229

- No crappy PVD coating
- No beavertail
- Coated internals
- SRT
- No rail (better for CCW)
