What's the deal with Sig P320 in 45ACP?? They show them on Sig's website but no dealer has any of them. Did they discontinue them?

Interesting.
There's only a few on Gunbroker for sale also.
Maybe the public has bought the first batch up and Sig needs to start on the second batch.
Just a theory.

I *think* Sig builds in batches, at least in some models and calibers, and sometimes there are holes in their inventory.  I've noticed supply surges and lulls in other models that I've looked at.

I hope they do soon. Dealer on GB has a few but they are LEO from Sig. So, if they make them but now they won't sell to civilians.

I saw two at my local AAFES so they are out there.  I opted for the 357 Sig compact though.

I hope they start shipping more to dealers soon. I have 320's in all flavors except for 45. Like the 320 platform a lot.

How does the trigger of the 320 compare to a Glock trigger? I have never handled a 320 before, just curious.

A whole lot of us here like them better than glock triggers. More solid break and better reset. But you're not gonna know for yourself til you handle one

FIFY

The P 320 shoots much better than the dry firing would suggest.  Just saying.

Very much truth! I've never been completely happy with how I shoot my glocks. I have the common problem of tending to hit to the left with them. Tried many changes to my grip but still not great. My first 320 right out of the box I was punching center of the target, just like I always did with the 229s I used to carry. I just plain shoot Sigs better and that goes for the 320 as well. Shoot one OP.

Very true.  I will say, however, the Ghost trigger in the Glock is the most impressive aftermarket I've tried in a Glock.  That being said, my Glock is officially retired and I'm not buying a Ghost.  All of my money is going into Sig.  While the 320 isn't perfect, like all Sigs it points perfectly and the accuracy is exceptional!

I like it better for the reasons others have said. If I continue to like it better I'll be switching from Glocks to Sig (assuming no other issues pop up as I shoot my new 320s). Not knocking Glock. Just my preference.

IMHO my 320 has the best  " Striker " trigger I have fired

That was my experience as well. I am downright impressed with the 320.

To the OPs question. The other thing to keep in mind about the 320 in 45acp is that it does not use the same fire control unit as the other calibers. The 45acp unit is larger and is not caliber interchangeable. I think this is partly why the production numbers are lower as well.

Like the 320 better. But my son is a die hard Glock guy and I gave him a 320 Compact 9mm for his birthday. He put the Glock away in his closet and only shoots the 320 now. He's hooked on it.

Good !!!  I wish they would ship some full size 45's out soon. After the MCX mess the 320 may be what saves them. My local dealers are shunning the Sig long guns for now. Our largest dealer just returned 12 MCX's to Sig.

If its like last year, SIG made a batch, then stopped.    I had been on a "wait list" for a P320 Carry since Dec '15.    I ended up finding a 45 Compact and buying that instead.

When I saw the P320 45's back available online, I figured if I wanted that Carry, I'd better get one (its in the mail   ).  Not sure how often or how many P320 45's SIG makes, but they do seem to be uncommon and less available than the 9mm/40/357 Sig P320 guns.

Localish place has a .45 full size 320 for $540ish...didn't catch if it had night sights or not. I've already got a 320 FS and a 320 Tactical Compact or whatever (threaded barrel, suppressor height sights, but came with standard size 15 round mags), both in 9...been kind of itching to see how a 45 does. If it shoots anything like the 9mms...well, it would put the kaybosh on me wanting to pick up another Colt CCO, that's for sure

I wound up going back to the localish place and buying it yesterday...it literally took it straight from the store to the range. All I did in way of prep was put a couple drops of oil into the rail channels on the slide and a drop on the hood of the barrel before loading and shooting. I wound up putting 103 rounds through it...not a lot but enough to get a decent handle on what it's about

This was rounds 84 through 93 at a measured 30 feet (I know, not exactly olympic-class distance)

Yeah I got a little sloppy on round 7

I'm happy with it. Recoil is mild IMO. I didn't shoot it back to back with a 9mm though I think I might do that later today...but honestly it doesn't feel like much to me. I was shooting it next to a 1911 FWIW.

Fortunately it seems to fit it in the JM custom kydex AIWB holster I have for a P320 9mm fullsize - I had to back the retention screw out about a turn or so but it drops right in like it was made for it.

I'm going this route or the HK USP 9 for my son and I here pretty soon. I shoot and carry a 1911 now, and load .45acp, but I still have everything for 9mm to load for it as well.

What is the highest capacity magazine for the P320 in .45acp. Magazine capacity is my concern.  I can get 10 round CMCs that are reliable for a 1911, and carry 8rd mags with the 9th in the chamber anyway. I was just wondering if the P320 in .45acp had mags that would hold 14rds or so. It would be worth sticking to .45acp for that. If not, then I'll be switching to 9mm. I had a Para P14-45 that was flawless mostly through over 12,000 rnds, but the LDA trigger made the grip size feel way too big. Still considering a double stack 1911 with single action trigger, but kind of wanting something different. My son isn't as much of a gun guy as I am so a more modern gun is sort of where I'm headed. I want us to have two just alike.

The largest current .45acp mag that I'm aware of for the 320 is 10 rounds, though if Sig decides to put out mags for competition that have more...who knows. Right now Springer Precision has extended mag baseplates but they cost as much as a whole mag from Top Gun Supply...

I've had and seen too many issues with > 8 round 1911 mags to ever consider one for serious duty use, but YMMV. I personally don't find 10+1 of .45acp lacking in any way...9mm, I would, but 45 not so much. I have a USP in .45 that has 12+1 and I honestly can't really think of any other reliable mainstream .45acp pistol that really has more than that? I'm sure there are a few (how much do 2011s hold?) but how many of them are in the sub-$700 market, like this is?

USPs are fine guns, but I find them...unergonomic to hold and shoot, compared to the 320. I love the USP mag release, but everything else about it just doesn't fit me well. That's one of the reasons I'm currently selling my HK45c...I love it, it's great to carry, but after years of struggling to shoot it as well as my 1911s or almost even my Glocks, I had to admit it just didn't work for me, which is a shame...but oh well. I find myself carrying my 320 in 9mm more and more, and shooting it really well even when cold (that is, no practice for weeks and shooting a FAST out of the blue with a great time).
