While I'm waiting on the ATF to approve my can, I've been getting the hosts prepared for it.

I'd like to run the suppressor on my 226, but I'm not sure which route to take. I see that silencerco, aac and storm lake make 1/2x28 versions, whereas the factory offering is 13.5LH.
I'd prefer the 1/2x28 and price of aftermarket barrels, but will I see a difference in POI, compared to the factory barrel?

Shouldn't. Though you will probably want to get suppressor height sights. Shooting through the can with sights is doable but suppressor height ones I find more enjoyable.

I may end up adding the sights eventually, but right now I'm in the "suppress all the things!" mode, lol.

You may actually be better off selling the non suppressor ready pistol and buying one that's setup with a threaded barrel and taller sights from the factory.

Just about all my 9mms came out ahead going that route.

Call Sig Customer Service. I got a good deal on a barrel and new night sights from them.
They have a program to replace any small worn parts/springs and add new night sights for around $150. Then they gave me a discount on a threaded barrel with free shipping.

Turn around was around 2 weeks.

I hadn't thought of that, thanks.

No go on selling the pistol. It's a W. German, that has a lot of sentimental value.

What's the deal with the threaded factory SIG P226 barrels with the chromed bores?  Are these worth it?

I got rid of the factory threaded barrel in my MK25 to get a SilencerCo threaded barrel in 1/2x28. No different POI from what I've experienced. I don't care for suppressor height sights as I've found to shoot really well with the low sights with suppressors mounted.

I got my silencerco threaded barrel for my 226 from Botach.  It was the cheapest i found at the time.

I also have a W.German Sig 226 with Trijicon night sites I had installed on it after I bought it from a friend. I ordered one of my suppressors in 13.5 X 1 LH specifically for it. I got my barrel from Osage County Guns, Sig barrel with blemish for a discounted price. It was supposedly drop in, had to have my gunsmith fit it since it wouldn't cycle after the first round.
