Very cool.  I wonder if they are Swiss marked?

Unfortunately, they have PW Arms shitty import mark.

Not a bad price. They're not getting any cheaper.

O man I want one.
Which one would you ask for the stainless or the carbon folded slide?

I already have a stainless, I would pick a folded slide.  I have 2 already and they balance very nicely.

Stainless for me I've got a carbon P6/225 already that's about to move on to a new home.

I just called to order one, and the VGC are out of stock.  I have a GC carbon steel slide on the way to me.  I missed out when they had these back in 2010, and have been kicking myself for not getting one since.

I grabbed one of the very good condition carbon slides and just got it today. The grips are the newer style (one side is Nov 2000, the other Aug 2002), but the gun was made in 1988 from the date code on the bottom of the slide. It has a few scuffs and one ding, but the finish looks great otherwise. The trigger is nice and smooth and weight wise feels like my DA/SA H&Ks. The front tritium sight is pretty much dead, but the rears still have some life in them. It also came with two magazines instead of one. One is an original Sig mag and the other looks like a brand new Mec-Gar from Italy.

I plan on adding the SRT and Short Trigger, and maybe the E2 grips as well as my hands are only medium sized.

How about some pictures?

This will have to suffice for now until I can give it a proper cleaning and have time to take more pictures.

That one looks nice!  Is there a Swiss crest on the other side or the top?

I'll post up my good condition Sig when it arrives.

No crest, just the normal roll marks from the factory, proof house, and importer. The Mec-Gar magazine that came with it has a neat vinyl bumper on the bottom of the floor plate.

The worst spots are on the high edges of the muzzle including a small ding where it looks like it was dropped, down the left side in the third picture including a scratch from an inch before the serrations to the roll pin, a wide area along the top of the slide just behind the breech block, along the edge of the beavertail, and a ton along the barrel and barrel block.

I am surprised it does not say made in Germany on the slide.

My P226 came in yesterday.  I got the carbon steel slide in good condition.  I was surprised to find that it is the P226-K model, with the K-Kote finish on the slide.  Mine also came with two Sig factory magazines instead of the advertised one.  There is very light holster wear, and I am impressed with the condition.  Mine was built in 1988.

What does K mean?  Is it just a special finish?

Yes, the -K designation was for those that had the K-Kote finish applied to the slides.

What is K kote?  Is it like cerakote?  Or like their newer nitride finish.

Do you think the stainless slide guns are new than the folded guns?

Yes, the stainless slide came out later.  What is the two letter date code on the bottom of slide?

I like the crest on the pistol you received.  I was hoping mine would have police markings, but it came without any.

It should have a two letter code below the two proof marks on the bottom of the slide, forward of the trigger guard.

A-0
B-1
C-2
D-3
E-4
F-5
G-6
H-7
J-8
K-9

For example, mine is JJ, which is a 1988 manufacture date.

Ok I will have to admit I have a problem.
Here is my second P226 from TGS. Folder slide gun. It only came with one mag but a sig box with matching serial number. This one show more wear than the other one I got.
Do you think one will have more value over the other in the future?
I plan on shooting one with lots of holster time and wear to come. Which one should be my shooter?
