What sight numbers are you using on your 228? I was told that they use a #8 front and rear.

*note:
Which size do I need for my 228? Confused by the numbering system.

SHould be 8 front / 8 rear

Correct - For folks with different calibers who are wondering which sights to buy for their Sig pistol:

Front/Rear sight size:

# 6 and # 8 = .40 and .45
# 8 and # 8 = 9mm and .357Sig

Just wondering....what effect would having an 8 on the front and the rear on a P226 in .40 S&W have? I know this won't cause the blow up or grow wings but ...would the point of impact by high or low?

My 228 has the #8 for the front and rear and these are the factory non night sight.  I have a 226 with factory non night sights with a #5 front and #7 on the rear.  Both were bought used, old PD trade in.
