I bought a sig p229 and p226 extreme.  I carried the p229 for 2 weeks and its already rusting.  Anything i can do?  I carried a glock for 11 years and it never rusted.

Oil it. I don't remember if those stamped steel parts get the Nitron, my guess is they don't based on this.

You can try a nickel decock lever too, but that would be weird lookin...

Take the lever out and use some 000, or finer, steel wool to remove the rust (won't take off the bluing). I use to use automotive paste wax on mags to keep them from rusting. You could try that on the lever.

You might want to try to find a decocker from a P226 Navy, they're phosphated I believe.

Wish I still had picks of a few we opened up at the shop and had rust everywhere. One 229 had the entire barrel covered in rust like it had sat out at the company picnic table for a few weeks in the rain next to the ocean.

I'll give you $100 for it  That way you can go back to your Glock and feel good about it.

Had the same issue with mine when I carried a 229.  Sent it back to Sig and had it replaced along with the mag release that was rusting as well.

I've seen quite a few rust there, including mine. Usually brushes off pretty easily. Grip screws will likely rust too.

That sucks.  My 22 year-old P228 (carried for years) does not have a spec of rust on it.
