If so, did you use a standard .057" shim, or did you find another size worked better?

UPDATE:  Brownells' tech support believes that SIG 1911's use the .030 shim, not the standard .057 shim.  Now I'm wondering if this is consistent from one SIG 1911 to another?

I haven't done this modification yet, but I plan to.  I have a shopping cart at Brownells with the 0.057 filler ready to go.

If I had a micrometer, I'd pull the series 80 parts out and check their thickness

That's my plan, but I haven't actually taken delivery of the pistol yet, so I was trying to get a jump on it.  Won't have it until the first week of December, since Kali only lets you DROS one-pistol-every-30-days, plus a 10-day waiting period.

I didn't realize that you were living in the peoples republic of commifornia - my condolences.
I really love my Sig TacOps 1911 - it's been a great pistol so far.  I haven't had to do too much to the gun since I got it.

- polished up the internals and slide.  (typical 1911 fluff & buff)
- replaced the grips.
- adjusted the pre-travel and over-travel on the trigger.

I think you're going to be very happy with your purchase.   Start stocking the ammo cans now!

Thank you for the kind words.  Your TacOps looks bitchin'.
I have 3 - p220's in .45, and also reload for .45, so all is in hand

I haven't bothered messing with the series 80 parts at all.
The trigger pull is really as nice as my other non-80 1911's and so I just don't think about it or care enough to spend the money to swap anything around.
The only time it annoys me is when I'm doing a detail strip of the frame.

Looks good with an Osprey on it!  The dimensions of the Osprey perfectly match up to the Sig.
