Still learning to appreciate mine

Btw does anybody know if an P220 Carry upper would work on a standard P220 frame?

I've got one but I rarely shoot it. It is a commemorative pistol from a deployment. I've shot the P220 carry model. Overall I like 1911's more.

I just recently picked up my first with both .45 and .22 top ends - and I'm enjoying the hell out of it!

I've had mine for a while, but I still love shooting it. In .45, not quite as soft shooting as my other .45's, but still a great pistol. Practicing with the .22 upper helped a lot with learning how to shoot the .45 setup with great precision. Makes a killer suppressor host, too! In both calibers.

I had three P-220s in .45.  I wanted the redundancy when CA and the Fed were banning a lot of guns.  Then Sig's customer service went totally to shit and I sold/traded every Sig I owned.  Partly for that anyway and also to obtain black rifles after the ban.

I might pick up a stainless 220 some day, but I am not in a hurry.

If you might, why are you still learning to appreciate it?

I bought my first SIG, an M11-A1, and really like it, though Im working on that DA first shot.
And then the LGS got in a couple of the P220 and being a fan of .45, it's really attractive, so that why I ask.

Because I don't shoot it as good as would like yet.

I don't see why not, the carry models which have 3.9" slides and barrels share the exact same frames as the regular 4.4" model P220s.

They should fit on P227 frames as well because the entire top ends of P220s are identical to those of the P227s.

ETA; plenty of P220 love from me, I've been carrying a Carry Equinox every day for almost 5 years.

Just under 12,000 rounds of all kinds of FMJ, and HST and Ranger Bonded through it without a stoppage or malfunction of any kind.

I wanted a 220 since they first came out, as the Browning BDA in the late seventies.  Finally snagged a really nice used one, at a good price, about five years ago.

I couldn't shoot the damn thing.  I tried every trick I could think of, the gun just didn't work for me.  I have other SIGs I shoot just fine, a 228 is one of my standard carry rigs.  But the 220 and I just couldn't come to agreement. Sold it.

Since the P220 Carry and regular model use the same frame I think you might be asking about the Compact model instead. The Compact has the ultra short slide as well as the shorter frame.

But doesn't the Compact use the same slide as the Carry model?
I currently own a P220 SL SO built on the old german frame with the small non-picantinny rail.
When Sig-Sauer Germany started offering the P220 Carry last year I asked them if the Carry slide would work on a standard P220 frame, which they declined, but I beleve such "Franken-Sigs" are already in use here?
You see, by Austrian law it is a comparatively simpler thing to get a registered second slide assembly and barrel for an existing gun than to get a new extra licence for a new handgun.

I still have the P220 Love.

My P220 has been my EDC for almost 10 years. Before that my EDC was a Stainless Commander.

Recently I installed an SRT in my P220 and I Love it even more.

BTW: I still carry the Commander on occasion.

I own two, one I stole nearly brand new for $550, the other brand new for $350. Both have had the AEP and SRT.

I always wanted one and finally picked one up at my LGS a couple of years ago. I shot it quite a bit and really liked it, but then I bought a HK45C. I like the HK just a little better and use it for my EDC. I knew the Sig would be relegated to the safe and probably never be used again, so I sold it to a friend of mine. My P220 was very accurate and I don't believe I ever had a malfunction of any kind with it. I just liked the HK a little better.

I want a P220 to love

I bought an M11-A1 ( my first SIG) 2-3 months ago and just love it.
I shortly turned my eye to those 220's.
So I'm saving my penny's...maybe for Christmas.

Top Picture is the first production SAO, no matter how I tried, couldn't get used to the safety, so I converted it to DA/SA, it's wearing the Sig laser.

Bottom picture is a W.German P220, Herndon VA import, it has the old bar dot sight and shoots like a laser.

What's not to LOVE about the 220?!  It's the ORIGINAL SIG "P" pistol!

After I had .22, 9mm, .357 SIG, and .40 S&W calibers covered in a SIG pistol... I NEEDED a .45!
Hello P220R two-tone.

Great for bowling pins:

"House Gun"... perfect:

Only own one, but plenty of P220 Love here.  My first Sig was a P220R Carry.  Still have it, still love it; it's one of the nightstand guns now.

I have two but I just put one up for sale as I have acquired a P227.

The threaded barrel for the P220 drops right into the P227 and works like a champ.
