Whats going on guys, i just picked up a P250 in 9mm, im loving this gun and havent shot it yet but will this weekend. The grip is seriously nice, but i agree the trigger is a bit strange because of the reset. Hope i get used to it, im mostly a glock person but wanted something different

Welcome to the P250, I really like the "revolver" like DAO pull. What did you pick up Full/Compact/Sub?

Welcome to the club! I am sure you will be satisfied with your P250... just rember its NOT a glock and you do have to allow the trigger to reset a lot further.

Well, I truly hope he is satisfied also, but I'm more willing to bet that he'll soon discover that the P250 is actually an abortion.

OP, sometimes you do truly get what you pay for. I suggest you run a few hundred rounds through it...maybe...before you decided how much you love it.

Thanks guys, i got a compact to start with.

Ill be putting a few hundred rounds through it on sunday and will let you know what i think of it.

Just curious, why is it an abortion? It seems better than my friends HK, which i would actually call that gun an abortion. Its his duty weapon and he hates it.

Like I said, I do truly hope you like it. Did you fire your friends HK? Is he in law enforcement? That doesn't mean that he knows jack about firearms btw.

My brother bought a P250 and we spend an afternoon with the thing. Compete garbage in my opinion.

I'd like to tell you that I think you made a wise purchase, but that would be a lie. You did come looking for true and honest opinions didn't you?

You will find LOTS of P250 haters, I love mine, 600 flawless rounds and I shoot it as good as a Glock or 1911. The Gen one P250 had issues, everything in the last few years are Gen two and the newer ones seem GTG. The haters will jump in and say there is no proof the pistol has been fixed but the Gen two takes different mags, etc

If you have never spent any time shooting a revolver you will need to adjust to the long DAO pull. If you Google around you will find dozens, if not hundreds, of reports like mine were shooters really like their P250's. The modularity to change grips, calibers, frame sizes is just a bonus.

Off the soap box let the haters come in

Okay....let's feel good....I take it all back...This is what you need to hear...

The P250 is awesome. When I put one through the paces, its unreliability and the trigger feeling like cutting tin was all my fault and the ammo. My brother and I fell in love with it anyway. He only sold it instantly because he was so incredibly desperate for cash. Most people will tell you that the P250 is one of the best bargains in the industry today. Just look at the countless reviews of happy customers. Pick one up if you're luck enough to find one because they literally fly off the shelf. You never see them traded back in for deep discounts.

In addition. H&K pistols are absolute junk. Most LEO's who are normally gun guys and know all about it btw normally absolutely hate them. If you're fortunate enough, certainly pass up the H&K for Sig's latest and greatest...the P250.

You can't go wrong. They're GTG. I think a lot of operators are "running" them. They've also made a big spash in three gun and the various pitsol competitions.

Honestly, you can't afford not to have one. The haters...they don't have a clue. They're missing out on the best thing since sliced bread. Enjoy your P250 for a certain lifetime of dependable, accurate, and enjoyable shooting.

Unless you got a first gen, ignore the haters. People are still bitching about how the M16 sucks based on something they read one time. If you like it and shoot it decent, enjoy the hell out of your new toy

500+ rounds through a full size 9 without a single hiccup after the first magazine (a couple FTF right at first, nothing since). It's not a tack driver like my 1991A1 (which people also say is pure crap) but I didn't buy it to compete with that or the 6" GP100 (Ruger sucks too, according to some).

You on the Facebook? P250 group/

Yeah my friend is law enforecement, i honestly think ive shot his pistol more times than ive shot my own glock due to him getting a lot of ammo for free. Im not bashing you at all, im welcoming anyone who has experience with the pistol to come comment, i did say i loved the grip, but can make a fair judgement till i get some rounds down range. But i am grateful that you gave an honest opinion about it.

Ok, Sarcasm noted... Thats the great thing about this country; everyone is entitled to thier opinion. You don't like the P250... cool. No one said it was the next 1911, or that John Moses Browning rose from the grave to design it as a end all, be all pistol.... It is what it is. A modular pistol that has been developed to meet a percieved need.

I've had mine for a couple of years now and shot several others... I've never encountered a single malfunction with it, and I learned to work with in the confines of the long trigger. I shoot it well enough to place it in the rotation of my self defense CCW pistols. For the money, it is a decent gun that comes with night sights from the factory and doesn't need to be sent to a gunsmith to be made to work (in my experience). For someone who wants a SD pistol that acts like a high cap revolver, it's hard to beat.

Just because you had a bad experience with one gun, does not mean that every other gun made in that series is junk.... Just like my good experience doesn't mean they are all the answer to everyones pistol needs....

Just my opinion... which is worth exactly what you paid for it...

Fair enough Tac. I know that some folks read these threads, read two or three positive comments in a row about something, and then rush out to buy one. In the case of the P250, I saw an opportunity here to give one of these folks the chance to avoid something that my brother didn't. He made an impulse buy and was very disappointed. I agree that you could likely buy one that would be reliable. Though still not worth it in my opinion...in this case.

In my brother's case he saw "sig" and thought "what a deal, a $300 sig." Just because we decided it wasn't a good value, even for the low price doesn't mean that everyone else will feel the same.

I just highly recommend that a P250 buyer research the matter heavily before dropping the dollars on one.

I too did not intend to imply this was the second coming of pistols. I bought on a whim because it was way less then what I have paid for comparable s and it was comfortable in my hand. I really like mine, 300 bucks NIB and it runs flawless at the 600 round mark (mostly WWB with some Fed/Win mix HP's for testing). Mine lives in my safe with other handguns that are generally held in high regard. YMMV

OP, make sure you post a range report, good or bad.

Do it as you would any new firearm. Disassemble, clean, and lubricate appropriately before firing it.

I shot mine straight from the box after a quick visual inspection. It was new manufacture date (current month of purchase) and it seemed good to go so I did no cleaning or lubrication. I had no FTE or FTF the first time out with a 100 round value pack of WWB.

YMMV.

Mine was packed with a small tube of grease, I haven't used any to date.

Some guns are rough around the edges until after the break-in period.

The P250 is one of these guns.

Whats good guys, got out of work early and picked up some a WWB 100 pack and a 50 of pmc bronze , got to the range and went to work. Gun functioned flawlessly except for 1 round of the WWB, it wouldnt fire so i picked it up and put it in my USC/UMP and it still wouldnt fire. Bad primer i guess. Overall i really like the pistol and i shot great with it but i need to practice a LOT more to get used to that DAO trigger because my follow up shots were fair to say the least.

There are a lot of happy owners of P250's over at Sigtalk. Sigforum is hit or miss, some consider it a pig, others like it, personally, I plan on buying a second one soon.
