Are these factory Sig mags and is it just one mag that has the problem or more than one?
Might be worth a call to Sig. They have great customer service. |

Yeah, it's the factory Sig magazine that came with my 220. I only have the one and two 8rd magazines for it so far.

My Sig 10s have never given me a problem, but a friend of mine has had problems with the last round not feeding.
I'm not sure if they're just not that reliable a magazine, or if some bad ones get out once in a while, or what the deal is... I've had great success with Sig customer service though, if you talk to them please let us know what the outcome is. |

OP, you left out important details... like just what happened when you had feeding problems.
And... are you positive that the spring is in correctly? |

Well the first time it wasn't taken apart at all, just cleaned up the outside of it. I'm pretty sure the sprig is in the right way. I usually take them apart and lay the pieces down the way they go back in. It is double feeding them after the first or second round. The round holds the slide open, when I go to clear it, I drop the mag and pull the slide back to eject the round. Than I pull it back to make sure and another round comes flying out. Not sure if there might be too much tension on the spring or what.

Double feeding... how do the feed lips look?

I haven't really looked at them. But if they were bad or damaged wouldn't it be happening any other time besides just after the first or second round?

On the first few rounds, the spring is the most compressed, and hence, exerting the most force. Can you replicate the behavior when cycling by hand? |

I tried last night really quickly with some snap caps that I have. I don't have any ammo at this time so that's all I was able to use. It did get hung up a few times. I will try again after I pick up some ammo and have it fully loaded.

First thing I did when I got my Sig 10 rd 220 mag was take it apart and clean it. Spring was in backwards. It was a real bear to load all 10 rounds, so I loaded it and unloaded it a few times, and then left it loaded for a week, to take some set. Since then, it has been flawless with my handloads, WWB ball, and my carry load, the Fed 230 HST.
