I'm always surprised to hear people having problems with the long extractor. My P229R Enhanced Elite has over 7,000 rounds through it and not a single problem. It's just over a year old too. And yes, I do have the long extractor

Been telling everyone not to buy long extractor sigs here for some time now. Trade it in for a better Sig.
If wanting NEW SIG 9mm I would get the New German P226 or the New MK25 and theres the P226 . And also the P239 has the right extractor in 9mm . Sig did make a few P229 9mm with the correct extractor but I havent seen any at the GS. If you want a P229R get it in 40cal  I lost count of how many rds I have fired without a failure with my Gen 1 P229 40cal
Im sorry for anyones problem. Maybe they are right ? and the newish owner is Fucking up the P design |

200 more, no issues.
I am now 3/5th trusting. Need 200 more to trust it before subjecting it to the carry ammo test. At 300 (350 if you count Sigs 50 round test) without failure. |

Alright, it's good, finally. That barrel change was all it needed.
Hit 500 rounds today (550 if you count Sigs testing) with out failure. Lots of Dot Torture drills and some messing around and some mag dumps all thrown in for good measure. Perfect and super accurate to boot. Will do a few boxes of carry ammo but I'm happy with this and I will trust my life to it at this point, I do not fore see any issues with carry ammo. At this point it has 1,525 rounds through it. |

Hell no! This is ARFCOM dammit, and all new SIG's are shit!!!! Luck of the draw. All the manufactures minus maybe HK have had problems. Even peoples beloved Glocks aren't immune from problems 
More long extractor guns work then don't but this wasn't even a problem with that. It was all in the slide/barrel fit, just like I knew it was...  |

ETA: The 225 is a great little single stack 9.... Decent deals on P6s are still popping up on occasion

100 rounds of Winchester Ranger Bonded JHP's and we are good to go.
Makes 650 without a failure, now that's the Sig I know and love. Been great to seeing all the Glock fans admitting to the problems Glock has been having lol! |
