This is a prototype compact P226 (P226C) that SIG USA was attempting in the mid-80s by mating a P225 slide assembly with a modified/chopped down P226 frame.
The frame mods were done by Maryland Gun Works at the time, per SIG's request.
Three samples were made. This is the only one that survived.

Well we all know that we envy Dsully as well.

Don't recall if I ever posted this, but it's just another "228".

Btw, hi guys, 12131 here. AR15.com was actually one of the first gun boards I signed up on, as 12131. But, I was never able to get on, for some reasons. Subsequently, I re-registered as monkeyboy60.
As to what I do, I'm just a hard working Oriental Redneck.
Btw, I'm not just a collector. I do shoot, too.

I could be wrong, but I think someone here really, REALLY, likes the 228

Did some SIGcleaning this morning.. Poor MPX in the background waiting for its 4.5" barrel

Picked this up two days ago. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet, but it feels amazing. Trigger is great and feels like the gun was made for my hand. It's lighter than what I was expecting. This will be my new competition gun!
